A showcase of my fashion interpretations

Pop Of Yellow

The weather in the city has been absolutely lovely for the past few days and I wanted to make the most of it by exploring the back streets of Satwa. Trench coats have flooded High street stores and I wanted to make the most of mine during our so called ‘winter’. Read more…

THE MINE POPS X

The fashion scene is constantly evolving in Dubai, and who would’ve thought that Al Quoz, an industrial area, would actually be a part of that change.

The Mine, a concept space in Al Quoz, held their 10th Edition of The Mine Pop-Up yesterday and they had a Back to (Old) School Theme and I’m so glad I passed by. Read more…

A Trip to Tagaytay Highlands

I finally got to see a little more nature and less citylife on this current trip of mine to Manila. I’m usually stuck running errands for the family and it’s hard to visit places due to time restraints. Thankfully though, a family friend living in Manila, helped arrange a mini getaway to Tagaytay Highlands.

The drive up to Tagaytay highlands is simply put: breath-taking. The place is surrounded by unsurmountable beauty and I was in complete awe of the view of Taal lake and Volcano. I also managed to make a quick stop to the Animal Farm nearby that had Llamas, civet cats, an Orangutan, anacondas, and pythons to name a few.

World Art Dubai 2015

Dubai is buzzing with art fever at the moment. We’ve had Comicon, World Art and with the onset of Fashion Forward over the weekend, the art and fashion scene is at it’s adrenalin peak, and I’m loving every single minute of it !

World Art Dubai took place at the DWTC from the 8th to the 11th and it had exhibits of artists from all brushstrokes of this world. Naturally I took like a million pics but I’ve just selected a few from the many that caught my eye. Read more…

Lunch date at Almaz by Momo

It’s been a while since I went to the JBR walk, and I totally forgot how fun and vibrant the place is. The whole walk has been renovated with play areas for kids, beanie bags on the beach, and for all the gymoholics, there’s even a weight lighting podium ! I guess it’s much-needed since the strip has a huge array of mouth-watering restaurants.

My girlfriend and I were craving some Moroccan food and lo and behold we spot the infamous Almaz by MOMO. Read more…

Dinner at Don Alfonso

About a few weeks back (yes it’s taken me a while to finally put this up), I was invited to an amazing 5 course dinner at the Don Alfonso restaurant at the Shangri La, Dubai, with my friend and blogger Zohra from ZizzleBlog.  I’m generally not a fan of Italian food, but this place totally changed my mind, Thank God ! The food was rich but not overwhelming, and everything from the Olive oil that was poured for my Focaccia bread to my juicy lamb rack, was enriching and mouth-watering. Honestly, if it wasn’t a 5 star restaurant I’d be chomping on my lamb rack as if there was no tomorrow, but alas, one has to be somewhat ladylike outside the confines of her home. Read more…

Getting in touch with the UAE’s roots for the 43rd National Day

December 2nd is a day celebrated in the UAE that signifies the leaders or the UAE coming together as one nation. Living in this country for over 24 odd years or so, this place is officially my home, having never really lived in either Pakistan or the Philippines. Usually my girls and I, will drive around Jumeirah beach road, and watch all the cars that have been decorated with the Sheikh’s faces, flags, and arabic poetry. It really is a sight to see ! You’ve got everything from antique cars to the latest bugattis side by side. It’s the ultimate car fest, some even going out by blinging their cars in swarovski crystals with the UAE colors.

This time round, I wanted to get into the history a little bit deeper and paid a visit to the Heritage Village with my family. There’s a little museum inside and it’s a photographic exhibition of the leaders of the UAE and it’s people. Read more…
